We’re doing ourselves a bad service by stretching the day into the extra hours of night. We do this not even because we’re not tired, but because we want to cramp even more things we could do into the day. Unnecessarily, mostly.
I think that stems from some frustrations with various aspects of the life. If your day is mostly the things you love and want to be doing, even little bits of that are enough, plenty. Is it? On the other hand, things could be the opposite, if you’re living the dream, could be you are unable to just stop. Is it?
Feels like when you’re truly living the dream, you could just be sure it won’t stop tomorrow, and you don’t have to squeeze every single drop of it today. Is it?
Could be the same thing about other things. Like, eating? The body is flexible, it adapts when we overeat, by stretching. So it’s flexible, the belly, by design. But eating small amounts and being modest is just more efficient than overeating. Same thing, can the body be sure we don’t have to eat more today? The food would be present tomorrow. It won’t spoil.
