Once, a bodybuilder friend of mine told me that nutrition is the first thing I need to focus on.
Since Arnie is a bodybuilder too, I take his advice about my goals first, and then I focus on my nutrition.
‘It doesn’t make sense to go heavy on exercises and eat junk food’ was his line. Well, I tend to agree here. Since for me, this is mostly about being healthy, to feel healthy, nutrition is a crucial part of this process.
For that, I created another project, a public cookbook. It’s a cookbook of our family, but it’s mostly for me these days. There, I collect recepies that I can cook. The idea is quite simple, to collect a number of dishes I can make, and make them.

A decade or two ago —
Oh, here we go again…
A decade or two ago, I have been making my attempts at trying to make an ideal nutrition plan for me. I was far from being successful. The ideal plan is something to come to. It may take a long time to arrive there.
So, these days, I think I’d like to start from the scratch again. Turned out, my eating habits weren’t a disaster. Now, since I have something to compare to. My wife’s eating habits are a disaster.
Her family is a disaster too. Her mother is married to a man who is not part of the family, and treats her as a cleaning lady. And I don’t mean typical Soviet dysfynctional family, they disfynction differently. More in a western-style dysfynctional family. God knows why he married her. She’s a kept woman for him, and they have kids, of which he mostly does not care any mutual things with.
Her mother hates her for being born. And while being an absolute primer of a stupid cunt herself, she did her best to ruin her daughter’s mental health. Having no father, she’s having lots of issues with her self-esteem.
It’s a huge can of worms, and most of the issues arise from there. As a result, she overeats, eats a lot of junk food, and her stress reaction is fucking eating junk food. By some weird luck she is just fat, not obese. Probably because she was never rich, and so couldn’t afford a lot of junk food.
Weirdly, junk food is expensive here, and healthy vegetables are not. Yet, by my standards we flush a lot of money on junk food, and don’t buy enough vegetables.
Also, my wife does not eat most of the (healthy enough) food that I cook. She can cook, and she cooks good, but it’s a huge quest for her, so cooking anything is too tiresome and complex for her. She’d prefer to never cook (to which I have no objections, mostly). She’s fine to cook once a week.
She cooks more than she wants, and I cook less than I want to. I enjoy cooking. It’s just that these days I’m not too active, and having very little energy.
So my goal is to find more energy, and to learn cooking better. So they’ll eat. These days, I have three family members that mostly don’t want to eat my food. Yet, it’s healthy and tasty enough. Maybe I’ll start by making my own nutrition table, then slowly approaching to offering my meals to them. We’ll see.
So, partially, this blog is planned to have nutrition notes too. The cookbook is planned to be rather a collection of recepies, I guess.
My goal for nutrition is to only to be healthy. Preferably tasty too (for them to eat!), but for me food is purely a fuel for me to have some energy. It’s just that these days, I’m having issues with eating healthy, since my home is filled with junk food. I never had so much junk food around me, in my entire life. This marriage was a mistake, in a way. I expected her to stop being that obsessed with unhealthy food, yet she brought that shit to my life too.
Without her willing to change that, I have no power over this situation. All I can is to try and use a huge amount of my willpower, but it’s counter-productive too.
I have no idea what to do here. I just hope I’ll focus on eating more healthy, and add physical exercises to this, and expect that at some point in life (a year or two later, I guess), this would change to something more positive. I don’t expect this to be quick.
As the original name idea goes, it would be great if I’ll reach healthy state by my 64.
