Hnat and Solomia at Petro’s 60th party

Today we’re at home, me and Nadia. Solomia and Hnat left to Petro’s 60th birthday party. He’s a distant relative, very friendly and hospitable. They like to throw a party, and honestly, these days I love those, mostly because I’m hungry for at least something that changes the very grounded everyday life. And especially this overly exhausting parenting quest.

Initially, we planned to go together, all of us. But the previous time Nadia was very annoyed and we had to leave the party after an hour or two.

We’re at home, Nadia wanted to sleep, but Hnat was overly active, annoyingly overly active — his usual state lately — and she was very irritated, to the point, I asked them to finally fucking leave home already, and let her rest a bit. They leaved, but then I failed to quickly manage her to sleep. I prepared lunch for the two of us, and she didn’t eat a thing. As usually. I have no idea what to feed this kid, she would want to eat only sweets and nothing more. Today we had pasta with cheese, nothing extra for her (and friend onion with red fish for me). She didn’t touch it. Yet, when I was eating a couple of sweets an hour later, she’d want to eat them all, obviously.

I failed to try to put her asleep. Yet, I did my second attempt when it was too late for her to even start sleeping, 4 PM. If she’s to sleep that late, it’s almost guaranteed she’s not sleeping till midnight or even 1…2 AM. (It’s fucking hell, this parenting thing.)

It’s 6 PM, I think we’ll go take a walk for an hour or two soon, and then we’d go to sleep. It looks like the rain has ended, eventually.
