When Nadia was little, it took her a very long time to get asleep, usually hours. I had been walking with her till she falls asleep, and a bit longer. Those were endless nights.
I had these flashbacks, I’ve been singing her this lullaby I partly invented, due to my lack of memory for the original part, inspired by the song of Castamere.
“And who are you?” The proud Lord said
“That I must bow so low”
Only a cat of a different coat
That’s all the truth I know
In a coat of gold or a coat of red
A lion still has claws
Mine are long and sharp, my lord
As long and sharp as yours
And so he spoke, and so he spoke
That Lord of Castamere
But now the rains weep o’er his hall
And not a soul to hear
“And who are you?” The proud Lord said
“That I must bow so low”
Only a cat of a different coat
That’s all the truth I know
And so he spoke, and so he spoke
That Lord of Castamere
But now the rains weep o’er his hall
And not a soul to hear
And so he spoke, and so he spoke
That Lord of Castamere
But now the rains weep o’er his hall
And not a soul to hear
and so he spoke
(That Lord of Castamere) Lord of Castamere
(But now the rains) weep o’er his hall
(And not a soul to hear)
And not a soul to hear
That’s the only song I can sing, due to the practice of many many nights with Nadia. I almost forgot that we had these sleep issues since her first days. It’s not that bad these days. Yet, it’s still challenging.
